Sheers were appointed by Nalco Limited to install chlorine dioxide generators and control systems at a site in the UK.
The systems installed were to assist in compliance with HSE guidance
booklet HS(G)70: The control of legionellosis including legionnaires’ disease and the associated document, The Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) (L8 Rev) The prevention or control of legionellosis (including legionnaires’ disease).
Each system comprised a break tank, booster pump, Envirox(R) chlorine dioxide generator and dosing and control backboard. Prefabrication of much of the assembly was completed at Sheers’ factory in Darlington to minimise on-site installation time.
The six systems were installed and commissioned within a 2 week period to the complete satisfaction of Nalco and their client, a large multinational engineering contractor.
Sheers were praised for the quality of the workmanship and for general project management of the project – the Sheers element of the work being completed 2 days ahead of schedule.
